▷▷▷How Far To Bend At The Hips For A Consistent Golf Swing
How far to bend forward
You'll hear a lot of advice that says the shaft should be in a 90 degree angle with the angle of your spine. Yuck, I think teaching golf by angles is a horrible way to teach. Nobody on the planet is built the same as the next
guy and thinking about trying to maintain angles during your swing is a sure path to ruining your swing. The golf swing is really not that complicated a motion and should be performed in an athletic manner. It's amazing when you give a kid a golf club and let him or her swing it they almost always make a pretty good swing without having heard any advice. Well as you already know I believe that amateurs over complicate the swing and most of their problems are as a result of them hearing bad advice and misinterpreting it.
Ok enough of my rant let's get back to the setup. Determining how far you should bend forward will depend on your physical fitness level, your fatness : and what feels comfortable to you. The one thing that you MUST DO is BEND FROM THE HIPS.
I am NOT one of the most flexible people in the world and I am one of those semi fat people : but I still routinely hit the ball over 300 yards. So if you are not that flexible or are a little overweight : then feel free to stand a little more upright it will help you to achieve your backswing.
So how much you bend forward will largely depend on your, athletic ability, fatness and flexibility. The good news is you can apply all of the principles in the Bogey Killer book no matter how far forward you bend at the hips.
Some heavier set people or people with poor flexibility will find it easier to complete a shoulder turn by standing a little bit more upright as already mentioned.
